You might want to look into astrocartography—not on TikTok, but any astrologer on Chris Brennan’s The Astrology Podcast you see talking about it would be reputable (he also has an episode on it I believe). It’s pretty niche and not well-studied, so there’s not a lot out there.

Basically, the idea is that in “western astrology” (aka “ancient Egyptian + Mesopotamian + hellenistic + Vedic + medieval Arab + some Europeans thrown in” ‘strology), the date, the time, AND the place you were born all determine your chart. So someone born at the same moment as you, but halfway across the world, would have a slightly different chart.

Astrocartography is the idea that the expression of your chart changes slightly any time you are not in your place of birth.

There’s also a type of reading done by an Indigenous astrologer “ishpiming astrology” called place-based relations:

“ an astrological exploration of your relationship with place, with particular focus on bioregional plants & animals, history, and local cultures. this reading illuminates connections & disconnections from our places and helps restore our relations with the many beings with whom we share this world.”

As someone with a gnarly 4th house, I feel you and deeply relate to this.

I also don’t think it’s a coincidence that the English, historically one of the most colonizer societies, are so disconnected from the land that Tolkein wrote Lord of the Rings so they would have a folklore.

Alice Sparkly Kat recently published a great article on Chinese astrology:

"I wanted to share a little zine that I made about the ecosystem found in bell hook's bazi chart with you. bell hooks's personality archetype, according to Chinese fortune telling, is a tree that grows on dry mountain soil. She just so happens to come from Appalachia where dry oak forests grow on the mountains. This isn't a coincidence. This isn't the first time that I've found that someone's chart as an ecosystem comes from a place that their ancestors cultivated. Your psyche isn't just an idea of a place but an actual place that you know."
