(I honestly kept forgetting to write this post)
Over on the Animist Arts patreon storefront, all of the Between Sun & Moon guided courses from a few years ago are available for VOD lifetime purchase. You get a pdf that has a link to access. These are great for beginners (however you want to frame that) and include lots of guided exercises and meditations. I don’t teach guided meditations anymore, at least in this form, so for people who want that, people who are asking me to provide that, this is my response. The courses are priced as cheaply as possible and split equally between Larissa Kaul and me.
As a way to contextualize these courses, here is a short writing about it:
How these courses fit into an ecosystem of practice
For a great many people stepping out onto the path of decolonization and trauma healing, the phase from beginner to intermediate practitioner can be a treacherous distance to travel.
In a culture of grifters and cons, cults of all kinds, to family & community members who are deeply afraid and suspicious, all of these relationships and more can pull us into years-long rabbit holes of misinformation and bias.
In the larger view of nondual animism, this part of the journey can be the most dangerous and painful. You may not have anyone else in your life who you can talk to about this learning journey who has their own dedicated practice, and even your therapist might be entrenched in western colonial double-speak and dualism.
The practices contained herein can serve as training wheels while you learn to ride the bicycle of nondual animism & liberatory spirituality. Eventually you will find your own sense of balance and agility, becoming something of an intermediate practitioner who can discern useful from useless in regards to experiential, relational principles and animistic epistemology.
When that time comes, play around with taking the training wheels off.
By this time, you should have absorbed and/or developed your own capacity for self-guidance and no longer require so much guided practice. After all, you can always go back to the basics, you can always use a guardrail.
In the beginning, it's good to be guided. After all, the path is dark and slippery and you haven't yet learned how to navigate with all of your senses -- perhaps you are perpetually habituated into over-thinking, doubt and a craving for certainty, or perhaps you are too naive and gullible, believing every shiny feeling that flashes through your body and mind. We all have developed automated defensive mechanisms that harm us even as they appear to protect us. So, there has to be a way to try on another costume and carefully take off the one you are already wearing. Using embodied play, artmaking, and various dream-like prompts, you can enter into the cave of dark wonder for longer and longer periods before returning to the more familiar set of behaviors that you aren't quite so infatuated with anymore.
And for those who want to burn all their old identities and run screaming into the forest, the guided prompts and playful exercises within these series of courses can help you to develop compassion and mercy towards the natural addictive cycles of intense highs & lows that come from being a member of a deeply troubled society. Gaining some much-needed space internally and learning to set better boundaries, listen to your natural appetites, and befriend your inner taboos all while managing your relationships for the good of all our relations.
No matter where you are on your journey, I'm sure there are tricks & tips, processes & plays that can help shake off some stagnation and open you up into a more artistic person, a more available community member, and a more ferocious revolutionary.
After you have digested some of this material you might find you need more targeted assistance. Here are some links below to contact Larissa and/or Dare for their current services.
