polestar astrology rates will increase soon

& journaling thoughts on reciprocity, respect and money

currently i am low-balling the hourly rates for polestar natal astrology relative to MANY other comparable astrologers. with polestar i spend a lot of time with you in session, helping educate you, your ancestors and your qi, which is not quite the same as many other approaches to astrology.

i have been charging 75$ hr and up (sliding scale) and the sessions need to be at least 3 hours for a real educational experience. 2 hours is doable but it’s a rush job. looking around the internet, ppl are charging upwards of $300-500usd for a 90-minute session…

just letting folks know, because the tide is coming in and that means all boats will rise.

update: 10/1/24: rates have solidified as well as the entire process streamlined. this will likley happen a few more times but making it easier for everyone as we go. currently things are much easier to understand. peek at sessions tab to see.

Thoughts n Feels

part of the issue is also that the audience that can pay me a living wage may not be the audience that reads this blog. i will still be using this blog as a mix of free, premium-only and mixed content posts. my intent is to still be generous but at some point, is can be a kind of martyrdom.

i recently had a typically horrid experience with an extremely “traumatized” client. luckily i intuited that there was at least a 75% chance that this person would freak out and attack me after the first session…. and i was right. but because i listened to my intuition and experience, i got the money up front (and my always no refund policy) for a six-session container. and all this was AFTER a three-hour natal reading which i now require of everyone who works with me. the ghosts don’t care about any of this though.

this may be the final metaphorical nail in the coffin of the old “business” model that i used and slowly killed the last few years. the audience needs to change and/or become more educated. the relationship has to fully change. respect has to be part of the reciprocity as well as money. and yes, many of the people who are coming for natal readings do show respect. so, it’s not all bad or anything like that.

it may also be that people who can’t afford the service i provide can’t even apply the service. so, it’s a qi waste for everyone if people aren’t at the level of internal management that they can effectively utilize the services.

there is a real issue of value perception here too. if i raise my rates, perhaps i will be perceived as more valuable.

i know all about capitalist techno-feudalism, but there is still an older version of trading resources that i am expressing.

it may be that what i actually do will never be valued at a level that will create security for me. but maybe it could! there are things i could do differently, speak to different kinds of people that would actually leap at the opportunity to work with me.

like i said, i’m still doing this blog (im working on about 7 articles), but i am also going to focus on communicating to a higher tier of people, building intentional relationships with capable leaders who play bigger, with more maturity for the benefit of all beings.
