"unclenching" ---- been doing freewriting for the past month or so as a practice and this is *the* word. Moving fast isn't necessary, as mentioned, but I do find it can provide some telling insights I'd self-censor if I didn't commit to scribbling it down on paper
Looking forward to trying out the practice you described too, btw
In the dream practice group, you said something : ‘compassion is not trying to take someone’s karma away’ and here, ‘Nature is not this kind of compassion’
This is the thread I’m teasing, (maybe adjacent to ‘creativity/improvisation)
For now just letting the notions of compassion dangle, resisting the urge to thread a new needle.
But these flapping, flailing notions of compassion and their colonised counterfeits draw my mind constantly in waking and sleeping dreams. A large part of my motivation for dream practice is this enquiry, maybe you will have more on this when Spring offers new air.
…
It’s probably boringly simple: something like: it feels good to be kind to people, like lying down on a pillow feels good, and having enough food feels good. Probably something basic like that.
to further spin the plate. in the reggio emillia classrooms, as well as some other alt-school settings, they don’t prioritize the kids to memorize or regurgitate —they supply them with conditions (tools, ideas, games, constraints, supports) which allow the children to learn via self-agency.
this is the same as “not trying to take away someone else’s karma”
basically yes. if we see this from a standpoint of complex, subconscious karma, then the playing/iterating itself will be a symbolic play of karma that can only be expressed by that particular individual at that particular time. "holding the space" then becomes similar to how we hold our own dream practice. we must allow people to discover their own karmic reflection for themselves!
also of note, on freewriting: https://ckarchive.com/b/wvu2hghkm7066h9r552rqtnq2okxxs8hq2g6w?utm_source=substack&utm_medium=email

So, giving someone the answer might be selfish, or, flatten the opportunity for a new answer
